We are looking for a high-performing Assistant General Manager to oversee our current business, be responsible for developing strategic long-lasting relationships with our major clients and ensuring we retain and grow them. The Assistant General Manager is expected to acquire a thorough understanding of the company’s solutions and offerings to suit the needs and requirements of the key clients. The Assistant General Manager must be able to stay up to date with the latest business trends in the market in order to remain competitive.

The ideal Assistant General Manager candidate would have a proven track record in managing similar eCommerce / social commerce company operations. He or she should be able to analyse data and the performance of campaigns, as well as to be able to improve business and marketing strategies. Ultimately, an exceptional Assistant General Manager will be able to lead the team to execute successful strategies to maximize potential opportunities.

The Assistant General Manager will be reporting directly to the General Manager.


What you will be doing:

  • In charge of the company’s day-to-day operations and be responsible to provide business updates to management and to the Board on a periodic basis.
  • Serve as thought leader, identify new revenue opportunities for the business through research, analysis, feedback and sales performance trends.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritise, and articulate highest impact initiatives.
  • General duties will include budgeting, managing P&L, and curating strategies to drive revenue, achieve profitability and as well improve market share of business.
  • Primarily responsible for overseeing, leading and managing all departments within the company, interviewing and training new key head employees, and supervising the team.
  • Optimising internal workflows to increase efficiency, identify challenges in business and opportunities to grow the company’s business.
  • Work closely with the team to plan strategies and action plan to increase traffic, acquire new customers, increase conversion rate to meet revenue and growth targets for client accounts.
  • Manage partners and third-party stake holders e.g. partner enabler, digital marketing agency, and oversee pitching processes, review agreements, negotiate fees,manage performance, resolve disputes, content creation, pricing changes,promotional activities implementation and submission etc.
  • Propose and execute new ideas to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and engagement for content.
  • Conduct market research and analysis.  Stay up to date with industry trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and optimize performance.
  • Analyse data or insights e.g. sales result, platform purchasing behaviour and competitor information to identity current social commerce trends.
  • Proactively search for new business opportunities in various eCommerce platforms, such as creator affiliate marketing.

Who we are looking for:

  • At least 5 years of working experience in eCommerce or social commerce field is required for this position.
  • Preferably to have at least a Diploma/Degree or an equivalent professional qualification, preferably in eCommerce, mass communication, information technologies, or digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce / social commerce and proficient in platforms such as TikTok Shop and Shopee.
  • Having worked in TikTok Shop or in a TSP company would be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective eCommerce / social commerce strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on long-term business goals.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with key clients, manage multiple client accounts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - must be able to write and converse fluently in English, Bahasa Malaysia and preferably Mandarin.
  • Well organised and good time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the passion to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic e-commerce landscape.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Kuala Lumpur.
