ABOUT GEORG
Georg Chmiel has 3 decades of experience in rapidly growing, disruptive online businesses, having successfully grown and exited Australian and South East Asian ASX-listed companies thereby creating significant shareholder value. He has had a leading role in more than 40 acquisitions.
For the last 12 years he has been based in Malaysia and focused on the ASEAN & ANZ markets. Georg is the Co-Founder & Chair of Juwai-IQI Holdings, the largest proptech group in South East Asia. He is also Chair of Spacetalk (ASX:SPA) and Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF), Kinatico (ASX:KYP) and BUTN (ASX:BTN).
Georg was previously Executive Chair of iCarAsia (ASX:ICQ), the number 1 online automotive marketplace for South East Asia until its acquisition by CARSOME. He was also Managing Director & CEO of the iProperty Group (ASX:IPP) until its sale to REA Group in the biggest online takeover in South East Asia at that point in time. He was non-executive Director of Mitula Group (ASX:MUA) and Proptech Group (ASX:PTG) until their respective sales to Japanese Lifull Group (TSE:2120) and MRI Software. Georg also held the position of Group CFO & Acting CEO at REA Group (ASX:REA), an Australian based decacorn.
He is a CPA and Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM). Georg holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD and a Computer Science degree from Technische Universität München (TUM).
